SMTD To Apply For Rebuild Illinois Capital Assistance Grant


Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) has started the process of applying for financial assistance through the Rebuild Illinois Capital Assistance Grant Program for the purpose of considering a project through the Illinois Department of Transportation, pursuant to its Capital Grants Program. The project is generally described as follows:

 A. Project Description: Purchase of (3) Medium Duty Paratransit Vehicles for expansion of services.

 B. Relocation: Relocation Assistance will not be required.

 C. Environment: This project is being implemented to minimize environmental impacts.

 D. Comprehensive Planning: This project is in conformance with comprehensive transportation planning in the area.

 E. Elderly and Handicapped: All new vehicles included in this project will be accessible to the elderly and handicapped.

There will be a public hearing covering details of the project on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rockton Township Meeting Hall, 1315 North Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL 61072. The public and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend.
