Bernie Bowersock Resigns from SMTD Board of Trustees

Stateline Mass Transit District (SMTD) has announced the resignation of long time Trustee and Marketing Chair, Bernie Bowersock, effective June 26, 2019.

“For the past eleven plus years, Bernie has been instrumental in growing Stateline Mass Transit to be a vital transportation provider in the greater Rockton, Roscoe and South Beloit area,” stated Executive Director Sharon K. Hecox. “Through his strong focus and exemplary service, Bernie has been instrumental in development of a transportation service that is not only the pride of the area, but which now serves as a model for other communities. Everyone at SMTD thanks him for his dedication and commitment.”

Gus Larson, President of the SMTD Board of Trustees said, “Bernie has been a trusted colleague, advisor and friend for many years, and we thank him for his thoughtful, distinguished service on the SMTD Board of Trustees.”

Bernie has been retired from North American Tool Corporation, South Beloit, IL, since June 2015 where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for 23 years. Besides serving on the SMTD Board of Trustees, Bernie was a board member of Meals on Wheels, and was proud to be a tutor for children through the YMCA and local Boys and Girls Club. He also served on numerous boards and committees in the cutting tool industry as a respected, experienced professional.
